How our calculator works

Every points value on this site comes from a single, verified dataset built from the official UCAS Tariff — the same scale UCAS uses. We map each grade of each qualification (A-levels, BTEC, Scottish Highers, the IB, T-Levels and more) to its exact points, then add them up using UCAS's rules, including not double-counting the same subject.

Because all our numbers come from one source of truth, the figure you see in the calculator matches the figure on our tariff tables and guides.

Independent and honest

We are not affiliated with UCAS or any university. We say plainly when a qualification isn't on the Tariff, and when a course makes offers in specific grades rather than points — because pretending otherwise would not help you. For official information, always check UCAS and the university's own course page.
