The one place UCAS points appear at Glasgow

Glasgow's 2026 admissions guidance is worth quoting in full because the caveat matters: "Whilst the University does not frame its offers in terms of UCAS tariff points, it may review UCAS tariff points, as well as information in your Personal Statement and Reference, to inform admission decisions for highly competitive subjects."

Read that carefully. Your Tariff total will never appear as a condition on a Glasgow offer letter — the condition is always a grade string. But on an oversubscribed course, where hundreds of applicants hold the same predicted grades, Glasgow may use the wider picture of your qualifications, including their Tariff value, to separate them. A fourth or fifth Higher, or an EPQ alongside three A-levels, does not meet a Glasgow condition; it may still count in the pile it is sitting in. Those totals are not evidence that Glasgow wants more from Scottish applicants. Glasgow's widening participation scheme reduces requirements by a genuinely large margin, and it does so in two tiers keyed to the Scottish Index of Multiple Deprivation.
